LA Blue Accelerator

The LA Blue Accelerator supports engineering and science-led startups working on solutions (TRL 4-7) across all areas of the blue economy including ocean, fresh water and coastal regions. The program concentrates on three key aspects of commercialization: building capability, capacity, and intellectual capital. This 90-day program includes weekly virtual workshops along with in-person support at our co-working space, Braid Space at AltaSea at The Port of Los Angeles. To be eligible for LA Blue, companies must be ready to grow their businesses and create jobs in the City of Los Angeles. Spring Cohort begins week of May 6, 2025.

Blue Future Incubator

Designed for companies that have successfully completed the LA Blue Accelerator (or equivalent accepted on a case-by-case basis), the Blue Future Incubator offers continued mentorship, expert workshops, networking opportunities, and funding connections. This ongoing program is offered at Braid Theory’s co-working space, Braid Space at AltaSea at The Port of Los Angeles. To be eligible for LA Blue, companies must be ready to grow their businesses and create jobs in the City of Los Angeles. Applications accepted on a rolling basis.

The Continuum Ocean Enterprise Accelerator

The overarching goal of NOAA’s Ocean Enterprise program is to support the development, commercialization, and adoption of new ocean data technologies and services for economic and societal benefit to the United States and our growing blue economy. Like all of Braid Theory accelerators, The Continuum Ocean Enterprise Accelerator concentrates on three key aspects of commercialization: building capability, capacity, and intellectual capital. Curriculum topics like business model canvas and product/market fit, customer discovery, value proposition, and go-to-market strategy will be accompanied by relevant use cases to support the NOAA program. Spring Cohort begins week of May 6, 2025.

The Continuum Ocean Enterprise Accelerator | Commercialization Prep

Upon successful completion of one of The Continuum’s Ocean Enterprise Accelerator programs (or equivalent accepted on a case-by-case basis), founders are eligible to participate in the Commercialization Preparation Program. This 4-week program includes both one-on-one support and cohorted programming specifically tailored prepare for the Technology Development and Commercialization (TDC) award process. The one-on-one mentoring is centered on business model refinement around one or more ocean enterprise theme areas, while the workshops directly support pilot project proposal and TDC award application preparation. Applications accepted on a rolling basis.

For Braid Theory portfolio companies, Springboard offers customized support to identify projects, build multi-stakeholder coalitions, prepare proposals, and deploy projects. Global Landing Pads

Working with partners across the globe, Braid Theory assists blue economy entrepreneurs in scaling their solutions internationally. We offer business incubation, co-working space, access to events and networking activities, and other landing pad support services in Los Angeles, Barcelona and Lisbon. Applications accepted on a rolling basis.
